Malayalam encryption and the Malabar Rebellion 1921

Happened to read this interesting post in mathrubhumi today of a new language that evolved out of an encrypted usage of Malayalam by prisoners of the 1921 rebellion. 1921 marked a new era in life, culture, art , education and religious reform in the Malabar. This though adds a whole new dimension. Interesting also to note that traces of the language are found in Kannur, Panur, Malappuram all the way to Kodungallur.
